This is the most popular area in our home. We spend a lot of time in our kitchen daily for cooking and preparing meals, washing the dishes and sometimes, gathering occasions that make it even more important to clean regularly.
Some would say, having a clean kitchen feels like having a completely clean house. In fact, even if you aren’t able to achieve a daily clean of your living room or any part of your home, cleaning your kitchen goes a long way in making it feel like the whole apartment is sparkling clean.
Let Maid Share give you some helpful tips on where to start and how to clean it in order. This cleaning is intended once or twice a week, depending om how heavily you use your kitchen.
First, you have to ready your materials;
All Purpose Cleaner
Baking Soda
Microfiber cloths and Brush
Trash cans
Sweeper/Broom and Mop
Rug
Reminders: Make sure that the cleaners or products that you will use are safe for your hard surfaces like counter tops. See our All purpose cleaner here, it is designed at removing dirt and grease without the use of harsh chemicals that makes it perfect for cleaning all surfaces.
Empty or Clutter off your counters
Start in one spot of the counter and remove the things that doesn’t belong in the kitchen anymore.
Get rid of the garbage and put it in the trash can or recycling bin. Anything that doesn’t belong to the kitchen but might still be used for other occasions or purposes, put it in a basket and set it aside. You can go back to it when you are done cleaning.
Bring any of the plates, cups or dishes over to the sink. Put all the dirty and used dishes to the sink to be loaded in the dishwasher. If you still have unloaded dishes, put them in the proper place and pile up the next dishes.
You can also grab the chance to hand wash the dishes that needed a special treatment. You can run a hot and soapy water in the sink and place the items that need soaking like pans, bowls, etc.
Cleaning all the surfaces
In this phase, this is where your actual cleaning takes place. Make sure to have 2 or more microfiber cloths. One is used with the all purpose cleaner or any chosen product and the other one is for drying the surface.
Wipe down your kitchen cabinets and any appliances. It is best to start from the top so any food or debris that falls will be cleaned as you work your way down. Use your all purpose cleaner to wipe down the cabinets or the top of the refrigerator. For areas with tough stains, try the mixed solution of baking soda and water, then apply it with your microfiber cloth.
Wipe down the counter tops. Since the counters are now clutter free, start wiping it down with the all purpose cleaner and microfiber cloth until you reach at the bottom and repeat the process to the other sections.
Pre-treat your stove tops and knobs or areas that have tough stains . Be mindful of the areas that are super greasy like the stove tops. Spray the all purpose cleaner and let it sit for 4-5 minutes before wiping it down.
Inspect your refrigerator for any rotting food
Take a good look at the food inside your refrigerator that are about to expire or something that your family doesn’t want to eat anymore and toss them in the trash can or recycling bin.
You don’t need to deep clean the refrigerator everyday but checking the food inside of it and putting away those dirty food containers regularly will give it a nice and fresh look.

First, once the sink is free with dishes, rinse it out. Use the all purpose cleaner or any scrubbing cleanser with a cleaning brush to address nooks and crannies. Scrub the faucet and any sponge holders and rinse everything well. As for unclogging the drain, fill it with hot water, add a baking soda or a diluted bleach and let it sit for 4-5 minutes then, drain.
Empty and Clean the Trash Can
You may not completely wash the trash can but making it simply clean inside and out by wiping down with a disinfectant wipes or a wet microfiber cloth before replacing the bag would be great!
Sweep, Vacuum and Mop the floor
Get your broom and start picking up all the crumbs and debris that falls on the floor. Go behind and under the tables and chairs or fridge to remove excessive dirt. After sweeping, use a vacuum cleaner all around the kitchen to make sure you get fine dust and dirt. Follow it up with a thorough mopping, make sure to use a bucket so won’t contaminate your clean sink.
