What you’ll need to disinfect your space
Use products that contain chloride, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and detergents. See what CDC recommends.
A ready to use disinfectant like Clorox and Lysol or some other effective disinfectant you prefer to use.
Note: Make sure you follow the instructions on how to use each of the solutions and how long it needs to sit to be effective — we suggests around 4-5 minutes.
If you choose to use bleach, make sure to dilute it in a 3:100 ratio to be effective.
Lastly, if you want to use alcohol based cleaner for some areas, make sure it has at least 70% alcohol content.

Parts of your home you should clean and disinfect regularly
All rooms/areas that has
Doorknobs
Light switches
Drawer pulls
Handrails
It is really important to start from the most commonly touched objects when disinfecting your home. Our hands transfer the most germs. We can pick up those germs from work to home, neighbors and even our pets. You can use a disinfectant wipes to take care these high risk touch points at least once a day.
Bathroom
No wonder, your bathroom is one of the dirtiest places in your home. It is full of germs and carrying other bacteria. Clean these contacts, regularly;
Toilet handles and seats
Dispensers
Hand drying towels
Tubs and sinks
Faucet and shower handles
These touch points are crawling with bacteria. Ensure that you clean and disinfect them properly at least twice a week with anti-bacterial wipes for the handles, toilet and tub cleaners or (mix solutions from above ingredients.) Hand towels must be washed daily as it will spread the virus or germs if you use them again.
Kitchen
Since, 80% of people now are working from home or just staying at home and so, for sure we spend a lot of time in the kitchen. In this time, we need to regularly disinfect these areas;
Tables and chairs
Countertops and under edges
Microfiber cloths
Stove knobs
Fridge handles
Appliance(s) buttons
Faucet handles
Check if your cleaners are okay to be used on hard surfaces, like tables and chairs. If you are not sure what solution to apply, use a rubbing alcohol or a disinfectant wipes to disinfect all of them. Disinfecting can be done 3 times a week but on stove knobs, it is safe to do it everyday since we often touched it when cooking.
Bedroom
This is where we likely to stay the most. Laying on a soft, clean and refreshing bed is something that I’ve always wanted when taking a nap/sleep or relaxing. It is best to regularly clean and sanitize them;
Bed sheets and pillowcases
Lampshades
Any appliances and remotes
All hard surfaces
Doormats or Rugs
An alcohol based cleaner or a disinfectant wipe can effectively use to all hard surfaces in your bedroom or use your preferred disinfectant cleaner but make sure to check the label if it’s to the material. Wipe down all surfaces daily and repeat them at least 1-2 times a week.
As for the bedding and pillowcases, and rugs, have them in the washing machine 1-2 times a week depending on its situation.
These are just a few of the things we should be cleaning and disinfecting regularly. Remember that whenever we go out, high chances of bringing the virus at home. So, make sure to wash the clothes and shoes you used outside as soon as you get home. If you can take a bath, that would be great but if not, washing your hands properly will be enough.
Washing your hands thoroughly is the best key on making yourself and home virus-free. These touch points can not be harmful if you will always pay attention on washing your hands either you go outside or not.
