Thanksgiving a time to give thanks for good food and great friends and family. Throughout the year with work, school and just everyday life its difficult to get the entire family together. So when we do get together every minute counts.

Lets all be honest we all want to eat but cooking and cleaning not so much (or not at all…This is why they all come to your house). We have here at Maid Share came up 10 tips as a sure fire way to help you spend less time in  kitchen and more time with the family.

POTLUCKS

Yes, we know aunt Annie's Lasagna isn’t that great However her pies are to die for. So here is what you can do delegate who’s going to make whats according who’s taste better of course. This ensures everything will get done right and you have more time to mingle. If everyone brings something no one person is overwhelmed.

PAPER OR PLASTIC

We know paper plates and aluminum foil doesn’t make your Instagram pictures pop but when all of your guest leave who’s stock with the dishes? If you insist on using fancy serving dishes at least use paper plates and plastic folks. This saves you a lot of time especially if you don’t have a dishwasher. Lets be honest cousin Andy is not staying behind to help clean a thing.

GO OUT TO EAT

Yes, tradition is nice but the amount of work that has to go into thanksgiving takes away from the moment. Eating out on Thanksgiving isn’t that bad. Many restaurants here in NYC offer a traditional thanksgiving feast for a reasonable price. Believe it or not eating out on thanksgiving is becoming more of a trend. Think about it this way at least now your home is still clean.

GET HELP

Find someone (or 2) that are willing to share the work. You cook, they clean that’s a perfect situation. If you don’t have someone who is willing to help with dishes, some cleaning companies like Maid Share at imaidshare.com offers cleaning/ serving before, during and after your event. It is a sure fire way to save you time.

CLEAN AS YOU GO

This like a no brainer however many people aren’t great on timing and in the beginning it worked but towards the end your schedule went out of the window.  Here’s our tip write down everything your making. After you’ve made the list organize it. for example if the turkey takes 4 hours in the oven use that 4 hours to  get the sweet potatoes and mac and cheese done. Using this method you will have time for clean up.

PACE YOURSELF

This is essential because when you pace yourself less mistakes equals less mess. Make sure you organize your list from “Clean as you Go” (above) so that your able to get dishes washed and start preparing for the next dish.

UH STORE BOUGHT ANYONE

Homemade sweet potato pies are tasty but so are Ms Patties at Walmart. Things like chickens pies, stuffing and many other dishes you can purchase from the store. Lets be honest if it wasn’t a  secret recipe from a old family cook book most people won’t notice. So save you sometime and purchase some dishes from the store.

CATERING

If you don’t want to cook at all you could always have it catered. Many catering companies, Grocery stores and places like Boston Market offer deals during the holiday season. If you don’t want your family know you catered take it out and put in your fancy dishes they will never know and we will never tell.

HIRE A CLEANING COMPANY

You want all the glory of cooking, decorating and serving your family so hire a cleaning company to clean up the massive mess you’ve made. If this is your solution, we’ve got you covered!

AHH AUNT ANNIES HOUSE ANYONE

If you want to definitely save time and avoid the headache go to someone else house. Be so grateful that you bring a extra bottle of good wine (the good stuff). When they ask why have you been smiling all night tell them “I’m just glad we’re all here”.
